Jack Washington

Shortly before his untimely death, Jack Washington began a fund raising campaign to help needy children cover basic school expenses. With his passing, the community created a memorial fund in Jack's name - a fitting tribute to a man who dedicated his life to serving youth.

The mission of the Jack Washington "Wonderful World" Fund is to help homeless and indigent youth ( Kindergarten through 12th grade) by providing resources for hope, opportunity and success.

Because the Jack Washington "Wonderful World" Fund donation is unrestricted, many needs that can't be met by Federal and State money can be met using our donation. For example, homeless students have completed all of the training for the Certified Nursing Assistant license, but have not had the funds to pay for their final exam, their uniforms or required equipment.  Using our funds, those needs were met and the students earned their Certified Nursing Assistant licenses and now have the ability to earn a decent wage.
